News Release Contact: Dr. Ann Swinker Jan. 3, 2007 324 Henning Building University Park, PA 16802-2601 Telephone: (814) 865-7810 aswinker@psu.edu Equine Reproduction Short Course to Take Place in February at The Penn State University On February 16-17, 2007, Penn State University at University Park, PA will be hosting an Equine Reproduction Short Course This "short course" is targeted for the serious mare or stallion owner who wishes to advance their knowledge on equine reproduction. The program will feature the following world famous reproductive speakers: Dr. Edward Squires, Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Equine Reproduction and Biotechnology Laboratory, Colorado State University, Dr. Paul Loomis, Select Breeders Service, Colora, Maryland and Dr. Troy Ott: Penn State University Professor of the Department of Dairy and Animal Science. The educational areas that will be discussed during the week-end training are as follow: Reproductive physiology, manipulation of the mare’s heat cycle, breeding via natural service and artificial insemination, shipping fresh cooled semen, and use of frozen semen, in addition to, advanced technologies in equine reproduction. This "Reproduction Short Course" will be held in101 Ag Sciences Industries Bldg at Penn State University, University Park, PA. The program is sponsored by Penn State University’s Equine Science Program and Cooperative Extension.Registrations will be accepted by mail or fax through February 8, 2007. Walk in registrations will be accepted as space allows. The registration fee includes all costs of instruction and instructional materials, beverage breaks, and lunch on Saturday.
